Project included renovation of 4 child daycare (CDC) facilities: Beachwood CDC, Clarkmoor CDC, Madigan CDC, and a CDC addition to existing Youth Activity Center (YAC) with an overall area of 90,000 SF and capacity of 1,064 children. Total upgrade and expansion of these 25 year old facilities were needed as they failed to meet new Army standards for child safety, visibility and supervision, as well as, the increasing demand.
Childcare areas were remodeled, reconfigured and opened up to meet current code, operational and safety standards and to greatly increase visibility and ability of staff to supervise children. Roofing, windows and doors, interior finishes, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and security systems were replaced throughout, which provided a great facelift to the interior and exterior, and significantly improved comfort. Energy efficiency of the facilities increased as they were designed for LEED Silver rating.
