Wendy’s introduced its new ‘Ultra-Modern’ building design in 2012. This project is one of the first to be constructed in the nation reflecting the new corporate image. The building exterior façade introduces more visual transparency into customer dining areas. Dominant horizontal and vertical shapes and forms with bold colors and contrasting materials are a substantial change from Wendy’s more traditional building designs.
The design was modified to comply with the City Planning Department’s design guidelines. Design elements affected included, canopies over entry doors, required transparency along each building side, pedestrian pathway to public streets, as well as variation of materials and finishes.
