Port of Tacoma Pierce County Terminal

The Port of Tacoma redeveloped the Pierce County Terminal into a $250 million container freight facility, which includes new and reconfigured wharves; 160-acres of upland paved yard; intermodal yard; and buildings.

Buildings include 32,000 SF of intermodal control tower maintenance facility for straddle carriers, forklifts, trucks and chassis repair; 14 bays; parts storage; tool room; and offices; 3-story administrative building with observation deck and control point for gate and scale functions; Marine building with offices and support facilities for ships loading and unloading functions; and a generator shop maintenance building for repair of refrigeration generators.

Other structures include scales and roadability inspection point with storage and office building; three gate security buildings; Compressor Building; straddle carrier wash facility with equipment building; and documents reconciliation building.
