Uptown Gig Harbor

Helix Design Group worked on multiple tenant improvements and new building designs within the Uptown Gig Harbor shopping center in Gig Harbor. Work included a new structure designed for Home Goods, a renovation of an existing building to accommodate a Marshall’s store, and a new IMAX addition to Galaxy Theatre. Additional work included tenant improvement for smaller retail and hospitality spaces around the shopping center including Ben and Jerry’s, Teaching Toys Too, Blue Agave, and others.

The structure for HomeGoods blends with the overall context of the shopping center utilizing a mixture of masonry, concrete, and stucco materials.

The Marshalls store improvements included accommodating their retail store plan into the existing building shell and also included a loading dock and covered loading access areas. We coordinated with National Design Team (TJX) to meet store design standards.

A 7,954 square foot addition to the existing Galaxy Theater building was completed to house IMAX theater screenings. The building shell materials included 47’ high CMU block walls and EIFS cornices to match the design of the existing Galaxy Theaters building. The existing site parking area was modified to accommodate the new building construction while maintaining complete site access to all existing shopping center buildings.
