As consultants to the O’Brien Auto Group, Helix was tasked with designing a new large, state-of-the-art Lexus dealership facility in Fife, WA. The 8-acre site offers visibility from Interstate-5, and and has two entrances from E. 20th Street. The building is a two-story structure, totaling 75,500 SF.
The east wing houses the parts and services departments, including 33 service bays with lifts. The two wings are connected by a 3-lane "port cochere" for service customer drop-off, and 10 adjacent service consultant offices.
The structure is elevated above to flood plain on a post-tensioned concrete slab floor system; the building is a combination of CMU and steel. The exterior walls integrate traditional Lexus signature materials, elements and details. Features include CMU walls and CMU columns, combined with aluminum storefront and glass, and a combination of brushed aluminum panels and stucco.
The interior east wing finishes feature high quality, up-scale materials and a sophisticated, transitional color palette. Particular care was given to selecting a lighting system that reflects the style of the dealership.
The plaza at the main building entrance has a large central fountain and raised car display plaza - an O’Brien dealership signature.
