Parkway Village
This project included the transformation and rebranding of an aging retail center in Tukwila, Washington. The existing façade was replaced with new building and lighting elements designed to draw attention from vehicle traffic along Southcenter Parkway. The use of mixed materials and varied height parapets, canopies and glazing add interest and give the center a village appearance.
The owners are the Mikami family who, in the past, operated a small farm on the site and have held a rich history with the land since the 1930’s. The design and brand concept uses subtle ques such as stylized corn stalk patterns that offer a tribute to the family’s history.
